Steps that you can take to reduce the chance of non-disclosure happening
To make sure your clients get the best outcome, here are some simple ways to help them give us the right information:
01 02 03 04 05
Encourage them to take their time reading each question carefully and answering fully. Some questions have multiple parts, so it’ s important to check that every part has been answered to avoid missing key details.
If they’ re unsure about details like dates, treatments, or medications, suggest they check with their doctor. It’ s too important to get wrong, guessing or assuming could lead to issues. It’ s best to get the right information upfront.
If they’ re unsure whether something is relevant, tell them to include it anyway – better to mention too much than too little. Don’ t worry – we’ ll ignore the information we don’ t need to know about
Even if they haven’ t had any symptoms for a while or they have never needed time off work, they should still let us know about their existing medical conditions.
Before submitting the application, ask your client to double-check their answers. If they spot a mistake later, they should let us know straight away.
If anything about your client’ s health or circumstances changes before their insurance starts, they’ ll need to let us know.
